Serikov and Bulatova had never met before the concert. Their first introduction came only afterwards, when Bulatova told Serikov that, despite her extensive experience on the concert platform, she had felt unusually nervous performing Revelation, knowing that the composer himself was sitting in the audience.

The Gala Concert was also covered by Dr Chang Tou Liang, a classical music reviewer for The Straits Times since 1997 and former Artistic Director of the Singapore International Piano Festival. In his article about the event, Dr Chang referred to Serikov’s work as the “Chopinesque Revelation Fantasia” and noted its performance by Olena Bulatova.
